Bookmobile Driver

Your library is looking for someone who genuinely likes to interact with and assist people. This person will help patrons of all ages, but especially children, access and check out materials and resources. This person is also responsible for safely and legally driving a bookmobile to and from scheduled stops and possible longer trips for maintenance. They also help with light maintenance and cleaning for the bookmobiles. This is a level 7 position scheduled for 40 hours/week. Most bookmobile staff work longer days to accommodate the bookmobile schedule. A 9 or 10-hour day is normal. Other than occasional events or maintenance, normal work days are Monday-Thursday. Pay starts at $14.82. Benefits include Health, vision and dental insurance, as well as retirement. Great leave time included. Interested candidates must have a valid driver’s license and must be at least 21 years of age. Experience driving large vehicles is a plus.

Facilities Assistant

We are looking for a Facilities Assistant. The position is 32 hours per week (with the possibility of going to 36), and will report to the Head of IT and Facilities. The hourly rate is 14.82 (Level 7, Step 1). This position includes annual/sick/holiday pay, as well as health insurance. (36 hours would include life insurance and PERF). You will be responsible for the library's lighting/landscaping/parking lot needs, repair and replacement needs, routine maintenance (excluding the Bookmobiles), overseeing the safe use of all equipment, and working with outside vendors. You will be the lead liaison for all pest control needs, including pest inspections and follow up. You will also be a back-up to the custodians, as needed.

Page and Clerical Positions:

Applications for library page and clerical positions are accepted at all times, even when there are no openings, and are kept active for six months. An application may be filled out at any library location, or Apply Online.

Library Page: Part-time. Starting wage is $8.48 / hour. Days and hours of work vary. In most page positions, the primary responsibility is shelving books. Other duties might include shelf reading, locating materials, affixing labels on new materials, covering paperbacks, filing, and occasionally assisting patrons.

Library Clerk: Part-time. Starting wage is $10.90 / hour. Days and hours of work vary. Clerks perform tasks in many library departments. Duties range from processing new library materials, library card registration, collecting library fines and assisting patrons with checking out.
