Circulation Clerk Full-time

The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library is seeking someone who loves interacting with the public, is approachable, and has excellent customer service skills to fill a Circulation Clerk at our Main Branch. This position needs a friendly, flexible individual whose primary duty will be checking materials in and out at a public service desk. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Head of Finance

We are looking for a detail-oriented person with a background in finance who wants to help our community become its best by leading fiscal oversight for the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. The Head of Finance will oversee all day-to-day financial and accounting operations, including payroll, coordinates the creation of an annual budget, and is responsible for KHCPL’s compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and laws. The Head of Finance also serves as the treasurer for the Board of Trustees. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and three years’ experience working in finance. Experience in government finance is strongly preferred. The position is 36 hours per week. Benefits include health and life insurance, Public Employees Retirement Fund, paid leave time, and nine paid holidays. Entry-level salary starts at $25.22/hr. Digital Media Assistant

We are looking for someone who wants to help our community become its best by providing helpful, friendly, and hospitable services within the library and the public we serve. Some of the duties are to assist the public in uses of existing and emerging technologies, and an ability to edit and embellish short videos and audio programs. This position will also assist with creating and implementing programs in our Digital Den. Requirements include: High School diploma or equivalent; a valid Indiana driver’s license, or the ability to attain one; experience working with patrons relating to their technology needs. The position is 20 hrs/wk. Hours include some evening and weekends. Benefits include paid leave time and nine paid holidays. Entry-level salary starts at $14.82/hr.

Custodian (24 hours)

We are seeking a Custodian for Main. The position will be a 24 hours/week. Includes evenings and weekends. The rate starts $12.90118. The primary responsibility for this position will create an inviting library by cleaning, sanitizing, and dusting all areas of the buildings, both private and public. The custodian will keep things looking nice by cleaning windows and other areas regularly, and by cleaning up spills and maintaining café areas regularly and as needed. Routinely empty trash and sort and collect recyclable materials. Pay particular attention to spotless restrooms by cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking each day, as well as regular maintenance and deep cleaning. High School diploma or equivalent/one- year experience working with the public. Friendly, approachable, flexible, cooperative, enjoy working alone, work well with little supervision and tolerant of routine work.

Children's Outreach Librarian

The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library is seeking someone who loves to engage with the public through innovative programming. Our Children’s Outreach Librarian will plan, oversee, and practice programming both in and out of the library walls, and will provide opportunities for youth of all ages to learn and grow. Requirements include: MLS or MLIS from ALA accredited school; a valid Indiana driver’s license, or the ability to attain one; current Indiana Public Library certification, or the ability to attain one, level 3 or higher. Page and Clerical Positions:

Applications for library page and clerical positions are accepted at all times, even when there are no openings, and are kept active for six months. An application may be filled out at any library location, or Apply Online.

Library Page: Part-time. Starting wage is $8.82 / hour. Days and hours of work vary. In most page positions, the primary responsibility is shelving books. Other duties might include shelf reading, locating materials, affixing labels on new materials, covering paperbacks, filing, and occasionally assisting patrons.

Library Clerk: Part-time. Starting wage is $11.33 / hour. Days and hours of work vary. Clerks perform tasks in many library departments. Duties range from processing new library materials, library card registration, collecting library fines and assisting patrons with checking out.
