Head of Finance

We are looking for a detail-oriented person with a background in finance who wants to help our community become its best by leading fiscal oversight for the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. The Head of Finance oversees all day-to-day financial and accounting operations, including payroll, coordinates the creation of an annual budget, and is responsible for KHCPL’s compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and laws. The Head of Finance also serves as the treasurer for the Board of Trustees.

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is strongly preferred, although extensive, highly relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. Three years’ experience working in finance is required. Experience in government finance is strongly preferred. The position is expected to be 36 hrs./week with 40 hrs./week negotiable. Excellent benefits including health and life insurance, Indiana Public Retirement System, generous paid leave time, and nine paid holidays. Entry-level salary for minimum qualifications starts at $25.97/hr., with substantial increase expected after six months. Children's Clerk

Circulation Clerk

The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library is seeking someone who loves interacting with the public, is approachable, and has excellent customer service skills to fill a Circulation Clerk at our Main Branch. This position needs a friendly, flexible individual whose primary duty will be checking materials in and out at a public service desk. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. The position is 20 hours per week and includes some weekends and evenings. Great leave time included. Entry-level salary starts at $11.67/hour. If you are interested, you must apply online. Page and Clerical Positions:

Applications for library page and clerical positions are accepted at all times, even when there are no openings, and are kept active for six months. An application may be filled out at any library location, or Apply Online.

 

Library Page: Part-time. Starting wage is $9.08 / hour. Days and hours of work vary. In most page positions, the primary responsibility is shelving books. Other duties might include shelf reading, locating materials, affixing labels on new materials, covering paperbacks, filing, and occasionally assisting patrons.

 

Library Clerk: Part-time. Starting wage is $11.67 / hour. Days and hours of work vary. Clerks perform tasks in many library departments. Duties range from processing new library materials, library card registration, collecting library fines and assisting patrons with checking out.
