School Visits/Tours

We offer a variety of tours for local schools to come learn about the library and any of our specific programs, services, or materials, and those are available to homeschoolers as well. A few standard tours include the following:

Introduction to the library which includes a tour of our Children’s Department, a sneak peek into how we check materials in and out, and the option to have each child receive his/her own library card so that they may check out materials. Appropriate for all ages/grades.

STEM Resources

Science, technology, engineering, and math are essential skills in today's world - and for the future! The Discovery Center is a space with open hours targeted for children aged 8-13. Every open hour session features different high-tech and low-tech games and activities including hex bugs, coding robots, 3D pens, and virtual reality. Our Discovery Center open hours are 4 pm – 6 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays when there are no conflicting children’s program at Main. Experience Kits

From hiking and identifying trees to science, technology, engineering, and math, we've created a number of Experience Kits that homeschoolers love, including FREE passes to Science Central in Fort Wayne and The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art!

Girl Scout Resources

We offer free, tailored programs for Girl Scouts to earn badges. Most programs are one hour. The minimum attendance is 8 participants, not including adults. Maximum attendance will vary depending on the program. Click here to learn more about Girl Scout resources
