Director and Assistant Director

Faith Brautigam: Director

I consider public libraries to be an amazing resource and a great return on investment. I am a strong believer in community collaboration and works to develop library partnerships. I have been KHCPL’s director since late 2012 and have been privileged to work in libraries in New York, North Carolina, Ohio, and Illinois before coming to Indiana.

Doug Workinger: Assistant Director

I began my career at KHCPL as a Para-Professional in Adult Services. I have worked in Tech Services, Circulation, and Outreach before becoming your Assistant Director in 2015. I see the library as a great equalizer, giving the same opportunities and resources to everyone in the community. I also geek out over the Graphic Novel collections in the library, something I am very proud of developing over the years.

Department Heads

Lori Danford

Lori Danford: Head of Financial and Administrative Services

I’m a lifelong Hoosier, but 100 percent Boilermaker, having graduated from Purdue in 2005. Boiler up! I’m the Head of Financial and Administrative Services at KHCPL, which is a perfect fit for me, considering I decided when I was in the sixth grade that I wanted to be an accountant. I grew up on a farm full of animals and showed my horses, dogs, goats, and pigs in 4-H for 10 years. In my free time, I love being with my friends, human and canine, especially my dogs Connor and Lilly - and the newest addition, Zinny!

Lisa Fipps

Lisa Fipps: Director of Marketing

I am an avid reader and just finished writing a YA novel in verse and am working to get it published. I love sharing stories about all that libraries have to offer and how vital they are in order to have an engaged and thriving community. I have been the Director of Marketing and Community Engagement since 2011, after transitioning from a 19-year career in journalism in Indiana and Texas.

Lou Ann French: Technology Manager

KHCPL’s desire to bring new technology to patrons attracted me to my job as the library’s Technology Manager. I love the way technology transforms lives and I have worked in Information Technology for many years after receiving my Master’s from Ball State and serving as the Department Chair for Ivy Tech’s School of Computing and Informatics.

Lori Hugley

Lori Hugley: Head of KHCPL Branches

I received my BS in Criminal Justice from Ball State and my Masters in Library Science from IUPUI. I never imagined working at the library, but once I started I just couldn’t leave! I have been with the library for 20+ years!

Joy Rogers

Joy Rogers: Head of Outreach

I was born and raised in Tipton County and had never seen a bookmobile until I had my job interview in 2001 and I immediately loved it and the services it provided. I became a bookmobile supervisor in 2001 and since then have become the Outreach Manager. I really enjoy working with the jail program, bookmobiles, homebound, and the senior citizen services. I now live in Kokomo, have 3 grown children, and a Schnauzer.

Amy Russell

Amy Russell: Head of Genealogy and Local History

I have been with the Genealogy & Local History Dept. since I began as a volunteer in 2010 and I am currently the head of the department My first library position was as the county bookmobile librarian for the Kokomo Public Library, followed by several years as a metallurgical librarian for Haynes International. My husband and I, Jon, are active in several local history and genealogy projects.

Trisha Shively

Trisha Shively: Head of Adult and Teen

I grew up in Oldenburg, a small town in Southern Indiana that did not have a public library. I got my first public library card when I started working for a public library while attending college. Since then, I have truly learned to appreciate the value that public libraries have in their communities. One of my favorite parts of my job is planning programs such as Howard County Reads and Summer Reading Club.

Aaron Smith

Aaron Smith: Head of Circulation and Facilities

My name is Aaron Smith and I am the Head of Circulation and Facilities at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. I enjoy helping patrons get the most out of their library. I am an alumnus of IU-Bloomington and IU-Kokomo. I enjoy visiting the many eclectic restaurants and Cafés in Kokomo. In my spare time I enjoy economics, current events, studying history, and reading science fiction and fantasy novels. I live in a modest home with my family and an emotionally-needy Maltese dog named Anton.

Meredith

Meredith Wagner: Readers’ Advisory Coordinator

I am a second generation librarian. I began my library career in 1996. Connecting patrons with materials and resources is my specialty.
