About the South Branch Library

Adult Collections & Computers
The South Branch has a growing collection of materials for entertainment or research. Our book collection includes fiction, Christian, mystery, science fiction, and western. We also have books on tape and CD, a large print collection, music CDs, CD-ROMs, videos, DVDs, newspapers and magazines. Many magazines are available for patrons to borrow and enjoy in their own homes.
The reference area has eight computers available to the public. Computers have high speed Internet access and many have Microsoft Office and other applications. Printouts can be made at a cost of 10 cents for black and white printouts and 30 cents for color printouts
Young Adult Collections
Teens are given special attention with a room of their own that holds fiction and nonfiction books, magazines and one public computer. Graphic novels (comic book style books that use text and art to tell a story) are also on hand in the Young Adult section.
Children's Collections
The children's area is a fun place to be. It includes a reading loft under an old "oak tree" and four computers loaded with children's programs. The South Branch also has children's books, books on tape and CD, music CDs and cassettes, CD-ROMS, videos, DVDs and magazines.
Interlibrary Loans
If we don't have a particular book or library item that you want, it is very likely that we can borrow if for you from another library. This is a free service. In 2002 we received over 1,700 requests from our patrons, and we were successful at retrieving over 1,300 items. We can obtain books, magazine articles, and other materials. Ask us in the Library, by phone at 765.454.4710 or through our online ILLiad Interlibrary Loan System.
Reference Services
Whether you're looking for the latest best seller, an illusive fact, the price of a used car, or research on a particular subject, we can assist you in your search. Librarians are available whenever the library is open to answer questions and provide assistance. In addition to answering questions for people who come into the Library, librarians also answer telephone reference questions at 765.454.4710 and through our online form.
Public Fax and Copier
The South Branch offers a fax service for the public.Charges are:
Outgoing - $1 per page for domestic and $2 per page for international
Incoming - 50 cents per page.
Copies can also be made at a charge of 10 cents per page for black and white, 30 cents per page for color.
