Harry and Clemma were both natives of Frankfort, Indiana. They were teenagers when they were married by the Rev. W. T. Arnold at the home of Clemma's parents in Kokomo on August 28, 1921. Harry was a plumbing pipefitter and a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 440. Clemma first worked at Crosley Radio, and later at Delco Electronics. In addition to a son, Harry "Bob" Nutter, of Richmond, Indiana, they had 2 daughters, Ruth Ellen (Mrs. Howard) Cherry, of Kokomo, and Tina (Mrs. Henry) Schmidlin, of Warsaw. They also have 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
