Joseph Alexander "Alec" and Bertie Agnes (Knight) Jones : 53 Years
Married 1891

Alec and Bertie were both born in Greene County, Tennessee, where they were married in 1891. The couple moved to Kokomo in 1925, where Alec worked for Continental Steel and the Bob Harris farm. The couple had 8 daughters and 1 son: Mrs. Guy Poe, Mrs. George McCain, Mrs. Ollie Arnett, Mrs. Flora Gillam, Mrs. Pearl Ford, all of Kokomo; Mrs. Lady Marsett and Mrs. Gracie Deau, of Depue, Illinois; Mrs. Louise Noe, of Jefferson City, Tennessee; and Johnnie A. Jones, of Greentown. In addition, they had 33 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Bertie died in 1944, and Alec at the age of 96 in 1962.
