Luther was originally from Clay County, Illinois, and Ruth from Morristown, Tennessee. They married in Kokomo on November 2, 1935. Luther was Navy veteran of WWII, and worked as a bartender. He retired from the Paradise Tavern. Ruth worked for over 23 years at Stellite and Haynes International. The couple had 2 daughters, including Judith (Mrs. Jack) Gunnell, of Kokomo, and 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. The couple died in an accident, and were buried in Sunset Memory Gardens on the day they would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
