Generations of Howard County

Mrs. Mary J. Davis, 89, great-great-grandmother, second row, left is the oldest representative of the five generaltions pictured above. Others are Mrs. Dora E. Baker, great-grandmother, center, and Mrs. I. R. Henderson, right, also in the second row. Rounding out the fifth generation is Margaret Ann, six months' old daughter of Dr. Lowell L. Henderson, on whose lap she is sitting. The women in the rear row are all living at 819 Virginia avenue, and Dr. and Mrs. Henderson and daughter reside in Rochester, Minn., where he is a member of the Mayo clinic.

Dr. Henderson graduated from Kokomo High school. In 1934, attended Indiana university and was graduated from the Indiana university Medical school in 1941. Before joining the Mayo clinic staff, Dr. Henderson was on the staff of the Indianapolis city hospital. His wife is the former Miss Anna Margaret Shafer of Burrows. The above picture was made during their recent visit here. [Kokomo Tribune, 3 June 1943, p.7]
