Family Search Microfilm Now Available at KHCPL

Overview

The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library (KHCPL)has become an authorized affiliate of the Genealogical Society of Utah Research and Library System and is now accepted as a FamilySearch Center in Kokomo. The designation allows the Genealogy & Local History Department at KHCPL to order microfilm and microfiche for the general public. The FamilySearch collection includes over 2.4 million rolls of microfilmed genealogical records. Each month about 100,000 rolls of microfilm are circulated around the world from this collection.

Rental Fees

Rental costs are $7.75 per microfilm roll for a 30-day period with renewals available for $5.50 for an additional 30-day period. If a FamilySearch microfilm is renewed twice at the Genealogy & Local History Department, it then will remain at KHCPL on extended loan. Microfiche are available for loan at the rate of $.15 per fiche card and will automatically remain at KHCPL on extended loan.

The microfilm and microfiche may be ordered and viewed in the Genealogy & Local History Department located in the lower level at KHCPL Main, 220 N. Union St. in Kokomo.
