To request a teacher collection

First check/reference the reservation / delivery schedule. Call the Main Library at 457-3242 and ask for the Children's Desk. Tell us about the subject(s) you would like to have prepared. The staff will select books and deliver them to your school on the designated date.

To self-select your materials, simply give your name to the person at the information desk and your teacher card will be pulled for you. At any time we are more than willing to assist you in making your selections. Unfortunately, courier service is not available to return these materials to the library.

To renew your collection, call the library's Circulation Department at 457-4711.

Bookmobile teacher cards are also available. Call the Outreach Department at 457-3242 for more information.

Answers to FAQ's
  • Teachers are encouraged to keep their collection in the classroom. Non-instructional materials should be checked out on the individual's personal library card.
  • Holiday books and "hot" topics may be limited to no more than five titles during periods of high demand.
  • One video and one DVD may be checked out at the same time for seven days but will not be included in delivered collections. CD-ROM materials are not included in teacher collections.
  • Requests for multiple copies of a specific title are accepted, but will be subject to current availability.
  • Student teachers need written permission to use their supervising teacher's library card.
  • Teachers can lose teacher collection privileges if, at any time, five or more items are not returned. When the number of missing or unpaid items is less than five, the teacher card is reinstated.
