About the Collection Development Department
The Collection Development Deparment has 5 main functions. It coordinates the selection of all adult, young adult, and juvenile materials, working within the guidelines of the Collection Development Policy. It is responsible for preparing and monitoring the annual materials budget. It analyzes the collections, considering the needs of each location and insuring that collections are balanced. It coordinates all weeding activity. And, it serves as a liaison between public service departments and the collection management department.
