EBSCOhost eBooks & Audiobooks
EBSCOhostThe Kokomo-Howard Country Public Library has access to electronic books (eBooks) and audiobooks from EBSCOhost, a commercial provider of online books in full-text and audio. This collection includes subjects such as computers, business, resume and careers, study guides, consumer information, health, travel, science projects, and more. Cliff Notes are also available.

How do I create an account?
  1. To view the EBSCOhost Audiobook collection, click here.
  2. To view the EBSCOhost eBook collection, click here.
  3. If you are using a computer other than a Kokomo-Howard County Public Library (KHCPL) computer, you will be asked for your KHCPL card number, last name and online Patron Record password.
  4. Click to Continue, where you will be redirected to the EBSCOhost homepage for KHCPL's collection. Click Sign In in the upper right corner, then click Create a New Account.
  5. Fill out the account information. Fields in red are required, including e-mail. If you don't have an e-mail account, please ask KHCPL staff for assistance to create a free Internet e-mail account (Ask A Librarian).
  6. Create a question to help you remember your password.
  7. Click Save Changes.
  8. You may be asked to create a different username if your username is already in use. Use your username and password every time you log in to NetLibrary.
Can I use EBSCOhost at home, work, or school?
Once you have created an account, you can log in from any computer with Internet access. You don't need a special reader or other device to enjoy electronic books.
What can I do once I find an eBook?
View this eBook opens the full-text eContent in the online reader. You actively view the eContent (turning pages, searching within the full text, etc.) in 15-minute increments. If you are not actively viewing the eContent, it returns to the library for someone else to view.

Checkout for 4 Hours checks out the full-text eContent title to your account and allows you to exclusively view the title for a defined period of time. You must be logged into your account.

What can I do once I find an Audiobook?
Download audiobooks which can be listened to on your computer or transferred to a portable device. There are never overdue books or late fees - titles automatically return to the Library's collection after 21 days.
Do I have to have a KHCPL card?
No. A Kokomo-Howard County Public Library card is not necessary to view KHCPL's EBSCOhost materials if you are using one of KHCPL's computers from one of our KHCPL locations. If you are not at one of the KHCPL locations, you will need a KHCPL card and password.
